Bunge’s joint venture phosphate project in Jorf Lasfar, Morocco, is on schedule to begin making fertilizers in 2010. The operation would serve as an additional source of phosphate-based raw materials and intermediate products for Bunge’s fertilizer business in South America. The 50-50 joint venture with Morocco’s Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) would have a capacity to produce about 625,000 tonnes/year of mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP) and tri-sodium phosphate (TSP).
